Last week, I had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful family. Mark and Jen actually live just a couple of blocks from us. Last spring, Mark received orders for Iraq and shortly after they found out they were going to have a baby. Mark was able to come home for a couple weeks and the timing was perfect. Jen went into labor two days after he arrived. I was so completely honored that they asked me to photograph this time in their life.
The natural light in their home was perfect.
She was pretty sleepy for the whole session, but she fluttered her eyes for a bit. I do love capturing newborns with their eyes open.
Mark and Jen, thank you again! Your daughter is just beautiful.
P.S. I really do love newborn sessions, and though I’m not taking any other portraits sessions at this time, I am happy to try to fit in a newborn session during the work week. It works best when you contact me before the baby is born, and the session happens within the first two weeks of birth. I prefer newborn sessions to happen in your own home.
