Before I post Gavin and Colleen’s lovely wedding, I have their super crazy engagement session to post.
First, a bit of background…Colleen grew up in La Crosse and while vacationing in Australia, met Gavin (originally from Ireland). Over the course of several years, they emailed and visited each other (the Twin Cities to Ireland – back and forth). Colleen was eventually able to transfer to Ireland for her job and last year while they were both here in La Crosse visiting with Colleen’s family, Gavin proposed on Grandad’s Bluff.
We knew that we wouldn’t be able to do an engagement session before their wedding, so we planned a quick engagement session after their rehearsal dinner. They, of course, wanted Grandad’s Bluff and we thought it would be perfect at sunset. Colleen even sent me pictures of the whole “look” that they wanted, complete with an old-fashioned looking dress and suspenders. Unfortunately, the weather and other circumstances just weren’t in our favor on Friday, but we were able to sneak in some pictures — in the rain and in the dark. These pictures definitely aren’t representative of a normal engagement session. I’m so happy though that I was able to take these few. Gavin and Colleen were so awesome for tromping around in the rain and in the dark on Friday just for a few pictures.

Very cute…wouldn’t have known that the weather and lighting was an issue if you hadn’t said so! I love the one with them walking away from the camera with her dress swinging and the umbrella shot, too!
